Global travel risk management company World Travel Protection has appointed Alerah Turner as chief operating officer.
Turner has worked with the company for close to 20 years in various leadership positions, most recently as director of global provider networks, and has relocated from Sydney to London to lead its 24-hour command centre in the UK, which support clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
In her new role, Turner will also provide strategic and operational direction to the company's command centres in Australia, Canada and Argentina.
Commenting on the appointment, World Travel Protection CEO Adrian Leach said: “Alerah possesses extensive leadership experience in travel risk management, as well as overseas medical management and services. Throughout her tenure at World Travel Protection, she’s consistently demonstrated an outstanding ability to drive performance and successfully implement organisational strategies.”
“Alerah possesses a profound understanding of the assistance and travel insurance industry. She has been instrumental in creating and implementing World Travel Protection’s GlobalCare Network of over 85,000 providers and has led the company’s transition to a global operating model, aligning its operations globally,” he added.
Prior to joining the company in 2004, Turner was an insurance specialist at World Travel Protection’s parent company Cover-More Travel Insurance.
