Lufthansa is to introduce a new First Class Suite Plus, as well as offering several different seating options in its new business class, as part of a €2.5 billion upgrade of its cabins on long-haul aircraft.
Suite Plus, which will be introduced in 2024 on new Airbus A350 aircraft, will offer a separate double cabin with closable door and two seats that can be turned into a double bed.
The airline will also improve all its other cabins – economy, premium economy, business and first class – on new long-haul aircraft as part of the Allegris overhaul of its onboard services.
Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, said: “Every guest has their own understanding of premium, which is why we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity.
“The First Class Suite Plus conveys the feeling of privacy and individuality similar to a hotel room – only at an altitude of eleven kilometres. The Allegris range promises individuality, exclusivity, and premium service along the entire travel chain.”

The revamp will also see Lufthansa’s business class passengers flying in their own suites for the first time with added privacy provided by chest-high walls and sliding doors, as well as a wardrobe and personal minibar. Two suites can also be connected for passengers travelling together.
The Allegris project will give business class travellers a choice of seven seat options, such as an extra-long bed of up to 2.2 metres, as well as additional space and work area. They can also select a seat by the window or a double seat.
Lufthansa will also introduce a new Allegris premium economy seat, which has already been introduced by sister carrier Swiss, offering more legroom.
The new Allegris cabins will be fitted on to more than 80 new Lufthansa aircraft by 2025, including Boeing 787-9s and Boeing 777-9s, as well as being retrofitted on to Boeing 747-8s which are already in service. The First Class Suite Plus will only feature on the A350.
