IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to expand its premium voco hotels brand in Europe with the signing this week of voco Brussels City North, marking the brand’s debut in Belgium.
Due to open in autumn 2023, the 92-room hotel will feature a restaurant and conference centre and will be linked to an onsite ‘innovation campus’ to create “a hub for hospitality innovation”. There’s also a 50-metre tower with panoramic views of the Brussels skyline.
The property will be launched in partnership with research group Living Tomorrow and operated by Prem Group, an existing partner of IHG in the region.
IHG’s VP of development, Europe, Willemijn Geels, said: “We know that Brussels is a strong market for branded properties, and we are confident that the voco hotels’ brand will fit well with the goal of creating a truly innovative hub on this unique site.”
Living Tomorrow CEO, Yin Oei, added: “The values of voco hotels fit well with our desire to innovate and push boundaries and we know that the strength of the IHG systems will provide a stable platform from which to innovate.”
Launched in 2018, voco hotels is IHG’s fastest growing upscale brand with 40 properties in more than 15 countries and 34 in the pipeline. In Europe, there are currently 15 hotels with a further 14 hotels in the pipeline.
