IAG’s new low-cost long-haul brand Level has sold more than 100,000 tickets since its launch last month.
From June, the new airline will start flights from Barcelona to Los Angeles (twice-weekly), San Francisco Oakland (three-times weekly), Buenos Aires (three-times weekly) and Punta Cana (twice weekly).
Level will operate the service with two new Airbus A330 aircraft branded in its own livery and fitted with 293 economy and 21 premium economy seats.
IAG said Level’s website has had over 700,000 hits since March 17, with 60 per cent accessing through mobile.
"Selling more than 100,000 tickets in such a short period with a new brand is incredible. The response has been fantastic in all markets,” said IAG CEO Willie Walsh. “We´re enabling many people to fly longhaul for the first time and stimulating demand by providing them with more choice.
"Level is breaking the mould. We will continue to offer amazing fares. Customers can choose add-ons for their flight from a menu of options.
"This is just the start. In summer 2018 we will have more aircraft and will operate more destinations from Barcelona. We're also planning to expand Level operations to other European cities."
